The Wilbur Twins

Buckle up friends…this post is going to get me all kinds of emotional.

Meet Samantha and Stephanie Wilbur. These two, incredibly beautiful, dynamic, intelligent, and kind human beings are my nieces. They are seniors this year, graduating Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe, and headed to ASU this fall. I have a long history with them and I want to take a moment to play the proud Auntie…so I’m gonna gush for a minute.

Samantha is older, actually born the day before her twin sister. She loves movies, the ocean, ramen, and her grandmother’s eggrolls. She considers herself positive, funny and a dreamer.

Stephanie is into lights, the beach, fun colors and hanging out with friends. She, too, loves her grandmother’s eggrolls (I think it’s worth mentioning that they’re the best!). She’s kind, optimistic, creative and friendly.

Here is what I know of my nieces:

  • They love to travel and have both been to all 50 states! They’re also well traveled internationally.

  • They are currently Co-Presidents of their high school’s chapter of DECA. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for college and careers. Over their high school career they have placed 4th, 1st and 2nd at the state competition all in the innovation plan team event. Each year they placed they’ve qualified for international competition.

  • They LOVE animals!!!

  • They’ve already started their first legit business.

  • And they’ve been to Disney more times than I can count!

I’ve had the great honor of watching these girls grow up into the talented , creative and driven young women they are today. They will both enter ASU in the W.P. Carey School of Business. They have a natural bent towards business, it’s in their DNA. Samantha will go the marketing route while Stephanie veers towards supply chain management and sustainability. And I know, in the deepest part of me, that they are gonna be a force!

So girls, as you get ready to graduate and launch into the “real world”, don’t forget who you are at your core. Do not compromise your integrity. Have fun but also have grace with one another. Safety first! And remember, if you get hungry, Grandma is right down the road and will always feed you. I am so proud of you and I thank you for allowing me this honor of capturing you in this moment of your lives. So go and kill it…but call me sometime to grab lunch, ok?
