A boutique experience for schools and parents.

My name is Shannon Ly and I am a Phoenix Valley photographer. I’ve crafted a seamless, boutique experience for schools, not the “big box, cookie cutter” approach we’re used to. My school portrait sessions are more personal and hands on, which is reflected in the images I capture. I’m also a mom of 3 and as such I have years of experience putting children at ease in front of the camera in order to get authentic, fun, personality packed expressions.

What makes Fine Art Photos different?

I take a little extra time with each child, getting to know them, to help them feel comfortable in front of the camera. The goal is not to get the perfect smile, the goal is to simply capture each child in an authentic and unique way. The results range from broad smiles, to silly faces, to bashful grins. A great photo doesn’t always mean a smile & looking into the camera…a candid shot of a child looking down can be just as beautiful.

What Do I Offer?

I offer a full-service photography experience for kids in, pre-school, elementary, and middle  schools in Tempe and the surrounding suburbs. There is no cost upfront, all profit is made from ordering. I bring all the necessary equipment with me to the school and set up in a pre-determined spot on a day that is set by the school. All families will receive detailed instructions before picture day that explains the shoot and ordering process. Families will receive a link that directs them to an online password-protected gallery, which will be organized according to grade, room, class or whatever grouping makes sense for that individual school. Each child will receive 2-5 images to choose from. Families can place orders for digital files, prints, and canvases. I offer competitive pricing that ranges to fit everyone's needs, including package and a la carte options. Products will be delivered to the school within 6 weeks of picture day.

What’s needed for a Fine Art School Photo Shoot?

Most importantly is a great space with natural light: think next to a big window, maybe under an awning. Privacy is also helpful so that kids don’t get distracted with all of the excitement. I set up my backdrop, adjust my camera settings, and click…we’re making memories!
