Phoenix Newborn Photographer: When Should I Book My Phoenix Newborn Photography Session?
Hey there, soon-to-be parents! Congratulations on your exciting new arrival! As you prepare to welcome your little bundle of joy, there are so many things on your to-do list—like choosing the perfect baby name, setting up the nursery, and yes, finding a wonderful Phoenix newborn photographer. One thing that often gets overlooked amidst the whirlwind of preparations is timing. When is the best time to book a newborn photography session? Let’s dive into this important detail to ensure you capture those precious early moments perfectly.
1. Book Early for the Best Availability
Timing is everything, especially when it comes to securing a top-notch Phoenix newborn photographer. Many photographers book up several months in advance, so it’s wise to start your search early. Booking a session during your pregnancy, ideally in the second trimester, gives you plenty of time to find the right photographer, ME, and secure your spot. This way, you’re not scrambling for availability during the busy newborn stage!
2. Newborn Photos Are Best Done Within the First Two Weeks
Newborn photography is a special art that captures the fleeting moments of your baby’s early days. The best time for these photos is within the first 14 days of birth. At this stage, babies are still very sleepy and flexible, making it easier for photographers to pose them comfortably and safely. If you wait too long, your little one may become more alert and less cooperative, which can impact the outcome of your session.
However babies are on their own timetable. Sometimes they come early, sometimes they need a little more time in the NICU, sometimes Mama may need a little more recovery time at home before feeling comfortable letting anyone in the house. The first 14 days is a general rule of thumb but please let me encourage you, newborn photos can be taken at any time. I never want anyone to feel left out or like they missed out just because the first 14 days have passed.
3. Allow Time for the Perfect Session
Booking your newborn photography session early allows you to plan around your baby’s arrival. It’s a good idea to schedule your session for a date that works for you, keeping in mind that babies don’t always arrive on time! Having a flexible schedule ensures that you can still get those magical photos without feeling rushed or stressed.
Here’s how it works. We put your due date on my calendar to reserve your spot. The last month of your pregnancy, you just keep me in the loop. Once baby is here, we can pick a date. Most couples finalize the date in the hospital or once you are home and settled in. If your delivery was smooth and you’re feeling great and ready for photos 3 days after birth, wonderful. Or if you had a C-Section and need a little more time to heal, we can schedule closer to two weeks after delivery. I work around what you want and what you need. I’m flexible!!
4. Ensure Adequate Preparation
The weeks leading up to your baby’s birth can be a whirlwind of preparations and emotions. By booking your Phoenix newborn photographer early, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that one important task is already handled. This allows you to focus on your baby and the new experiences you’re about to share. Or at the very least focus on the hard work of labor and delivery!
5. Recommendations and Research
Choosing a newborn photographer isn’t just about availability; it’s also about finding someone who fits your style and understands your vision. Start your search early to give yourself ample time to gather recommendations, review portfolios, and discuss your preferences with potential photographers. This thorough research ensures that you end up with a photographer who will capture your family’s unique essence beautifully. 6. Plan Around Other Post-Baby Events
Post-baby life can be a flurry of doctor appointments, family visits, and adjusting to your new routine. By booking your newborn photographer ahead of time, you can coordinate the session around these activities and ensure that it fits smoothly into your busy schedule.
